Slothful Day

I feel  slothful today.  My daughter works hard on her homework allbeit begrudingly.  My mom made this great cake. I went to chruch did some recruiting, crashed my computer, and fixed it. I have changed my profile pic on fb three times today. Why is it so hard to get anything done on Sundays for me anymore.  For four years It was the busiest day of the week.  I loved it.  I was serving God at chruch in the morning through the worship team. (C3 borrowed from fellowship).  the afternoons varied. I would get ready for our life group that we had in the evenings. Those were the best.  It was a family sunday supper and bible study all in one.  Sometimes I would play volleyball.  Well, ok not very often.

Advent Monday 2nd Week

Sunday   Monday   Tuesday   Wednesday   Thursday   Friday    Saturday Symbols for this week

Second Week of Advent

 The Second Sunday of Advent
We re-light the candle of hope and now also light the Second Purple candle of love. We know that God is love. We remember with thankful hearts the gift of Jesus, who came as a babe in a manger, lived and loved among us, was killed on a cross, and arose! Love endures forever.

Advent 2 Sunday
As this second week of Advent we must think of Mary and her anticipation as she awaited the birth of Our Lord and Savior. In a similar manner we should be anticipating and preparing the way of the Lord. We hear John the Baptist calling us to prepare our hearts to greet the Lord.

We read from the beginning of the gospel of Mark: Mark: 1:1-8
Here begins the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In Isaiah the prophet , it is written: "I send my messenger before
you to prepare your way: a herald's voice in the desert, crying, "Make ready the way of the Lord, clear his a straight path."
Thus it was that John the Baptizer appeared in the desert proclaiming a baptism of repentance which led to the forgiveness of sins. All the Judean countryside and the people of Jerusalem
went out to him in great numbers. They were being baptized by him in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins. John was clothed in camel's hair, and wore a leather belt around his waist. His food was grasshoppers and wild honey. The theme of his preaching was: "one more powerful than I is to come after me. I am not fit to stoop and untie his sandal straps. I have baptized you in water; he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit."

Ps. 85 I will hear what God proclaims; the Lord -- for he proclaims peace to his people. Near indeed is his salvation to those who fear him, glory dwelling in our land. Lord, let us see your kindness, and grant us your salvation.
Carol: "O Come, All Ye Faithful."
Advent 2 Monday

Mary, the Mother of Jesus

Dear Faithful God, you gave Mary, Jesus' mother a special gift: salvation from the first moments of her life. Help us to be like her and do whatever You ask of us in our lives.

ary listened to what God asked and then did what He requested of her.

Luke 1:26-38 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name
was Mary. The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly  favored! The Lord is with you." Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end." "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. For nothing is impossible with God."
"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left
her.
Mary was willing to do whatever God wanted of her. She is a good example for us to follow. Who are some of the other good examples in our lives? May we always Thank God for being there to help us along our way in this life.

Psa 96:1 Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.

I was reading a devotion this morning.  The question asked was was the greatest day of your life.  I pondered a day came to mind, well two really.  They both were in the last year.  I have had many great days so I sorted and sifted. Those two days kept poking through they had the some of the many of the same people. One was my birthday and one was Easter. My birthday party I planed myself. It actually was plan b.  I wanted all my friends to go with me to the dance. I couldnt believe it; the dance was cancelled Carol was sick.  Well It was l my birthday so not to be outdone by fate I moved it to the house for a game night.  I know many had a better time being there with each other than be at the dance.

My Adventure for the day. Job hunting: Like anything you look for what you like first. That job that you will just love I have looked and thought I had found a job I would love. They seem to be great.I would love the job at Christmas and money is almost gone. I probably wont ever publish this post. I get scared. God says be anxious in nothing but in everything be in prayer and thanksgiving. I am thankful for the money I do have. I am thankful that my lamictal went trough. I am thankful that my daughter has a car. I am thankful that I might just learn to keep my room clean. I can keep the whole house clean except my room. I have heard this is common. I dont know my mom;s room was is always perfect. She is a wonderfull woman. I wish I didnt let her down so often. I hear her telling people about me on the phone. I just dont think she really thinks that. Help me LORD to not let her down.

Orphan Thanksgiving

Several years ago I started a thing called Orphan Thanksgiving, What an adventure that has been, It has been different,  No two have been the same. I began thinking about how it would be different this year not having that kind of adventure. The idea behind orphan Thanksgiving was that anyone whose kids were somewhere else or just didn't have anywhere else to go came to my house. In my ponderings,is that really a word, my blog my words, I realized that Orphan Thanksgiving is not a good title.  Orphans are kids who have been abandoned and have no one to love them.  My house was filled with people that were welcome and loved,  Next time I have that I will give it another title.  I am not sure what at this time but it is a least a year or more away.  I missed the people that were there but I loved the ones that I spent this year with.

Overview of Thanksgiving Adventures

Today was Thanksgiving.  It was different this year than most recent years.  The way I have celebrated has changed over the years. Some out of choice some out of necessity. The last four years we had Orphan Thanksgiving. (more thoughts on that later) We had Thanksgiving for the people who didnt have anywhere else to go, The year before that, we went out to eat. The year before that was spent with my granny blythe in the nursing home.  The two years before that Granny was in the hospital so we ate cafeteria food.  Thanksgiving is supposed to be about family.  It is for us.
All are chosen. Some we are blessed and born with. Some we are just blessed with.  It hasn't mattered; the who is always the same and that is family.  Not always the same family members but always family. The where is usually different every two years or so.  The why is always the same and that is the love of family.

How to

How to... You can find the how to on just about anything.  My daughter asks me something about or her homework or says I cant fiure this out and I ask her 'did you ask the teacher' .  Her answer is ' no I didnt have time or blah blah blah.  So being the researcher that I am and the long time ago college graduate, I get online and ask Jeeves.  I have found out how to her DBQ. I had to find out what one was first then I was able to help he.r She  really didnt need my help she had the how to sheet in her binder.  Is there a how to on how to deal with that, probably but I am afraid to ask.
I love the internet.  I am trying to figure out how to market myself better using social media.  My dergree was long ago and not very marketable.  I need to make a new resume that shows me in a better light.  Things are so different than they were when I was job hunting just a few years ago.  There is a how to on that also.  One thing remains the same you need to know someone and the computer can not do that for you. Today's adventure  ... AVON sales rep meeting and making some puzzle pieces to put together to show how to know why you need to hire me.

A MOMENT THAT WILL REMAIN A LONG TIME

Yesterday a monumental moment happened in the world.  The doctor that caused Micheal Jackson's death was found guilty of negligent homicide.  The fall of Micheal Jackson was a huge loss.  Why did he lose the thrill of life. Did he ever have a thrill.  He gave to so many and people will know his name forever.  Like Elvis Presley his music changed the way we do music. You may not like the music they play or the words they sing.  They both have the power move us.  Elvis will love you tender and Micheal help you walk on the moon.

I believe some other people that have changed the way we do music are still alive.  Chris Tomlin Israel Houghton to name a few.  They have changed more than the way we do music.  They have been given a gift by the Holy Spirit they were anointed by God to bring Freedom to the captives.  There legacy will be even bigger because they preach freedom and not captivity.  by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit

New Adventure

I have had so many new adventures in the last year I will talk about them randomly.  I am a AVON rep.  I was about to lose heart.  I am now enthused to have some new ideas. I started selling AVON to feed my habit.  I love the products.  I get to work with all sorts of people from the rich and famous to the poor and struggling. I can see a chance to mentor others as they need to feed their habit also.  With the people I have been blessed to be a life coach has given me a chance to invest in others lives.  Being a rep provides me a chance to do that again.  Networking has been a blast as I get to know people from all works of life.  More later
This is so awful I have to post it.  So later we look back and see where I have come from.

I like and the why

I love to research.  Give me a subject and I will research it until my eyes are square.  For instance I would have started to write this blog sooner, but I had to research the best way and the best name etc. etc.  There was so much I just decided to go with it because if I kept looking at the how I would never get to the actual doing.
